Description

The Accounting Department, consisting of 18 employees, is part of the Municipal Executive Office.

The department's mission is to work with financial administration, qualified accounting, and to provide support and advice on these matters to the municipality's administrations and companies. We are responsible for the overall work with year-end closing, the municipality's accounting processes, as well as accounts receivable and accounts payable. We have recently implemented a new financial system, Raindance, and ongoing work continues on the development of routines and processes.

Responsibilities

In your role as a financial administrator, you will primarily work with tasks related to accounts receivable including the collection chain, reconciliations, bookkeeping in the general ledger, cash accounting, but also tasks within accounts payable and general financial administrative tasks. The department is also responsible for financial administration for several of the smaller companies within the group. Contact with our administrations and companies, as well as customers and suppliers, via phone and email is included in the responsibilities. You will participate in investigative assignments and improvement work regarding operational routines as well as in forums with other financial administrators in the group.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a high school diploma or vocational training with a focus on finance or equivalent competence from other education. You have experience with similar tasks and good knowledge in the field of accounting.

You have a sense of both the big picture and details, and you are responsible, structured, and meticulous in your work. Your communication skills are important as we work in teams and have close collaboration within the group, but you can also work independently under your own responsibility.

We work with continuous improvements and digitalization of our financial administrative routines, so good computer skills and an interest in development are a requirement. You have worked with the Office suite, especially Excel, and it is an advantage if you have previous experience with the financial system Raindance.
